We're Going to have a ball at the ball!
This year American Studies and Ancient History & Archaeology are joining forces to hold a ball for all our members, associated class mates and department staff at the Mercure in Leicester. We want to make sure this ball will be a great send off for the 2020 academic year, and a chance to celebrate our communities together.
Who are you?
We are the American Studies and Ancient History & Archaeology Societies, two different academic societies with quite a few friends in common! We're teaming up to create a summer ball for you all this year, but we need a little help from our friends.
After some complications with some other societies whilst planning this ball we thought this wonderful opportunity might not go ahead; but American Studies have put in such a lot of work to organise this wonderful meal, entertainment (more below) and location for their society that AHAS knew they had to step in and lend a hand to make sure it wasn't lost! We're selling the tickets for the ball through this platform to make sure that the American Studies Society is rewarded for their hard work, and that nobody misses out on this wonderful event for our supportive communities.
Where will the money go?
Your ticket money will be paying for your fabulous 3 course meal within the beautiful Queens Hall (or Kings Hall depending on how many people come!) at the Mercure Hotel, and the money gained from the LeicsGo! match funding will go towards the hiring of UoL Big Band to perform at the ball, and the hiring of a photo booth for capturing some memories with your mates.
Any remaining funds will be reinvested back into the running of the two societies and our future activities.
