We are raising £3440 to help maintain our land training capacity. 4 years ago the University lent us their old, pre-used indoor rowers to help us to become more independent and allow our squads to train as a team in our own space. Now some of these ergs are showing signs that they are reaching the end of their lifespan and need replacing.
Who We Are
University of Leicester Boat Club are a proud member of Team Leicester. We have been a club since 1948 and strive to expand our love for our highly regarded University sport.
ULBC is proud to say that we offer one of the cheapest learn-to-row courses in the country. 90% of our members join without ever having rowed before and go on to compete in international events such as the HORR, WEHORR and the Henley Royal Regatta.
Without functioning equipment, we struggle to cope with the amount of people interested in joining our club. With a limited training capacity, this plateaus our expansion and the ability to include as many members as we can from the University of Leicester community
Where will your donation go?
Our minimum target of £860 is the cost of 1 Concept2 Indoor rower, even if we get 1 more erg to increase our total ergs to 7 we will be extremely pleased. If we reach our target we will be able to buy 4 new ergs, which will replace all the ergs that are either beyond repair or on the edge of breaking. If we manage to exceed our target to get £4,085 we will be able to use Concept2's 5% discount to buy 5 ergs!
If there is money left over once we've purchased all our ergs, we'll spend it on the following:
- A new cox box (£549)
- Sculling blades
- Repair and maintenance of the fleet
There are some Boat Club related rewards up for grabs depending on the size of your donation! Check them out in the right hand sidebar.
